How Climate Change is Impacting The Global Wine Industry
In this research paper, I explain how the cultivation process of wine grapes specifically has been altered by the effects of climate change, and describe the projections of further aggravation to this industry in accordance with expected temperature rise. While acknowledging the susceptibility of the vast majority of agricultural products to harm under the conditions created by a changing climate, I chose to focus on wine grapes due to their exceptionally high vulnerability to climatic shifts. Through writing this piece I became more aware of the level of adaptation that will need to be achieved throughout the food industry in order to remain productive when faced with the threat of warming and increased natural disasters. I am interested in learning more about how the production of other varieties of food will be altered in order to maintain the quality and volume of production needed to match their demand, and I hope to share further research similar to this in my blog.
